Products Management

The Products section is where you create, organize, and manage the items that will be displayed and sold through your online store. This section provides tools for creating product categories, defining product attributes, managing inventory, and configuring product variations.

Catalog Structure Matters

Before adding products, it is important to properly organize your catalog structure. A well-organized catalog helps improve product discoverability, simplify navigation, and increase conversion rates.

Overview

A well-structured product catalog helps customers find products quickly, improves navigation, and creates a better shopping experience.

The Products module consists of two main areas:

  • Category Management — Organize products into logical groups
  • Product Management — Create and configure individual products

These work together to organize your inventory and present products effectively on your storefront.

A well-organized catalog helps:

  • Improve product discoverability
  • Simplify navigation
  • Enable advanced filtering
  • Improve customer experience
  • Increase conversion rates
  • Support product variations and inventory management

Customers are more likely to complete purchases when they can quickly locate products and filter options based on their preferences.

Category Management

Categories help group similar products together.

// Examples
Men's Clothing
Women's Clothing
Shoes
Electronics
Home Appliances
Accessories

Categories are displayed throughout the storefront and help customers browse products efficiently.

Recommended Image Guidelines:

  • Use high-quality images
  • Maintain consistent image dimensions
  • Use images that clearly represent the category
  • Avoid text-heavy images

A visually appealing category image improves browsing and engagement.

Category Name

The Category Name identifies the product group.

Choose names that customers can easily understand.

Tax Percentage

The Tax Percentage field allows you to specify the default tax rate applicable to products within the category.

// Examples
5%
12%
18%

This helps automate tax calculations during checkout. If different products require different tax rates, configure them according to your business requirements.

Product Filters

Product Filters allow customers to narrow down search results based on specific attributes. Filters improve navigation and help customers find products that match their preferences.

Available filter examples include:

  • Brand
  • Color
  • Size
  • Material
  • Gender
  • Age Group
  • Discount
  • Condition
  • Pattern
  • Occasion
  • Fit

The available filters may vary depending on the type of products being sold.

Filters help customers:

  • Find products faster
  • Compare similar items
  • Refine search results
  • Improve purchasing decisions

This results in a better shopping experience and often leads to increased sales.

Filter Examples by Category

For a Clothing category, useful filters may include: Brand, Color, Size, Material, Gender. For Electronics, useful filters may include: Brand, Storage Capacity, RAM, Screen Size, Processor. Choose filters that are relevant to the products within the category.

Purchase Options

Purchase Options define the attributes that create product variations. These options allow customers to select different versions of the same product.

Examples:

  • Color
  • Size
  • Material
  • Storage Capacity
  • Weight
  • Pack Size

Purchase Options are used when creating product variants.

Difference Between Filters and Purchase Options

Although they may appear similar, Filters and Purchase Options serve different purposes.

Customer filters products by:
  Color = Black
  Size = Large

// PURCHASE OPTIONS — Determine which variation the customer buys
Product: Running Shoes
Available options:
  Color: Black, White, Blue
  Size: 7, 8, 9, 10

// The selected combination becomes a product variant
